Equity, Diversity and Inclusion –
The Executive Coaching Psychology Company (ECPC)
Psychology, at its best, is the science of human potential. That means all human potential, not just the people who have historically had the easiest path to the table. Equity and inclusion aren’t additions to our work at ECPC; they are inseparable from why we do it.
Who we are shapes how we work
Our coaches work across continents, cultures and organisational contexts, with leaders at every level and from every background. That breadth is not incidental. It reflects a deliberate commitment to building a community of practitioners who bring genuine diversity of experience, perspective and identity to the work.
We know that coaching and psychological assessment carry real power, to open doors, to surface potential, to shift how someone sees themselves and is seen by others. We take that seriously. It means we are constantly asking whether our tools, our language, our methods and our assumptions are serving every individual fairly or quietly favouring some over others.
In practice
When we select psychometric instruments, we consider norm groups, cultural context and potential bias, and we are transparent with clients and participants about limitations. When we design programmes, we build in flexibility for different needs, communication styles and lived experiences. When we form coaching relationships, we work to create conditions of genuine psychological safety, where people can show up fully rather than perform a version of themselves they think is expected.
We do not tolerate discrimination or harassment in any form, from colleagues, clients, contractors or anyone we work with. This is not a threshold we meet; it is a standard we hold each other to.
Bound by more than policy
As HCPC-registered Practitioner Psychologists and members of the British Psychological Society, we operate under enforceable professional codes that place equality, dignity and respect for persons at the heart of ethical practice. These are not commitments we make in documents; they are obligations we carry into every session, every assessment, every piece of work we deliver.
Committed to our own growth
We hold ourselves to the same standard we bring to our clients: that growth requires curiosity, honesty and a genuine willingness to be stretched. As practitioners, we engage in regular supervision, not only as a professional requirement but as a discipline that keeps us reflective, accountable and open to perspectives we might otherwise miss.
We actively seek out diverse voices, whether through our own continuing professional development, the colleagues and supervisors we choose to learn from, or the clients and communities we work alongside. We know that our understanding of equity is not fixed. It develops through listening, through challenge and through the humility to recognise that lived experience is expertise. We create space for those conversations within our own team, and we welcome them from outside it.
An ongoing conversation
We don’t believe we have this perfectly figured out. Equity requires attention, humility and a willingness to be challenged. We actively seek feedback from clients, participants and associates on how we can do better, and we act on it.
If something doesn’t feel right, we want to know. Concerns can be raised directly with our Directors and will be handled with care, confidentiality and the seriousness they deserve.
